Dr. Merideth Early
Dr. Early was born in Greeley and grew up in Nunn. She has lived in Weld County nearly all of her life. (Only lived in Ft. Collins for 6 months before escaping back to Greeley). She is very excited to be able to work so close to home and in the area in which she grew up.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in Microbiology as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. She is a very devoted Ram fan and still enjoys attending sporting events. She has been in the veterinary field for the last fifteen years in the northern Colorado area.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Early has a special interest in dermatology, surgery, and exotic pets. She also loves parasitology and examining fecal samples. (Sounds weird to us, but we don’t question it). Dr. Early currently resides in Ault where she has been for the last 9 years with her two children. They share their home with a pug, Mimi, and a cat, Nermal. The Early family loves the Colorado outdoors, museums, and parks.
Dr. Cynthia Jenkins
veterinarian on staff. In early 2011, she completed her certification in medical acupuncture for veterinarians through CSU and CVMA. With her certification, Dr. Jenkins now does this soothing procedure on Tuesdays and sometimes Thursdays.
She loves the Colorado outdoors, lifestyle and people. She owns 2 rescue dogs; Jack and Jill, 2 horses; Joe and Fred, and a goat named Honey. Dr. Jenkins and her companion enjoy horse back riding, playing hockey, gardening and hiking in the mountains.
After receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2006, Dr. Edwards went on to work exclusively with Colorado native wildlife through several rehabilitation centers including WildKind, located at the Larimer Humane Society, and well as working as a wildlife consultant to several area veterinary clinics. Although rewarding, she missed interacting with clients and forming bonds with her patients and therefore decided to work in small animal practice as well, finding herself practicing here at Eaton Animal Den since 2010.
Professionally, Dr. Edwards is passionate about wildlife and exotic animal medicine, pathology, and preventative medicine. She is also known as a "crazy cat lady" as she loves working with our feline patients (she cites due to the fact that cats remind her of working with some of the more dangerous wild animals she has encountered)! Above all, she values the opportunity to help all of our furry, feathered, and even scaled companions and develop the doctor-client relationship with each appointment she sees. She enjoys spending time outdoors with family, traveling to tropical locale, and can also be frequently found playing guitar, painting, or watching scary movies in her leisure time. She currently resides in Western Fort Collins with her two rescue dogs (Chipo and Crackers), three cats (Nyoko, Peanut Butter, and Mokana), two cockatiels (Mulder and Scully), and a plethora of fresh-water fish.
